Move your Box
to Google Drive
Terabytes of files and folders, moved straight from Box into Google Drive or a Shared Drive. You get a report of every file, and you can keep working in Box until you switch.
Your first 200 files or 5 GB move free. You pay once. Failed files are never charged.
- Read-only access to Box
- Nothing there is changed or deleted
- A report of every file
The this2that mover: Box on the left, Google Drive on the right, an arrow to move what you tick, and a sidebar with your plan, what you picked and each move's progress.
Tick files and folders in Box, open a Drive folder, press the arrow
How it will work
- 1
Connect Box and Google Drive
Sign in to both. Pick what to move and the Drive or Shared Drive folder it goes to.
- 2
Tick what to move
Folders or single files. Whatever fits your free move or your pack starts right away.
- 3
We move it, you get the report
The move runs cloud to cloud, not on your computer. When it finishes you get a report of every file, and catch-up passes for 30 days.
Built for moves that have to finish
Cloud to cloud
Start the move and close the tab. It keeps going, for days if it has to, straight from Box to Google Drive.
Move it your way
One folder today, the rest next week. Pick folders or single files, send them to any Drive folder, and come back for more.
Every file accounted for
A report lists every file that moved, was skipped or failed, with the reason. Failed files are never charged, and you can retry them.
A safe switch-over
Keep working in Box while the move runs, nothing there is changed or deleted. For 30 days, a catch-up pass moves only what changed since.
Your folders, recreated
The folder structure is rebuilt in Google Drive or in a Shared Drive for your team.
Personal and company Box
Any Box account. Some companies require an admin to approve new apps once; the connect step tells you if yours does.
What moves
- Every file and folder you pick, or your whole Box
- File names, folder structure and modified dates
- Any file type, videos and design files included, up to 5 TB per file
- Into your own My Drive, any folder in it, or a Shared Drive
What stays behind
- Sharing settings, comments and version history
- Box Notes are listed in your report rather than moved, because they are not plain files.
- Your Box itself: nothing is deleted there
How long it takes
Google Drive accepts about 750 GB of uploads per account per day, on every plan. Your move runs as fast as Google allows, pauses at the limit and resumes on its own the next day.
- 100 GB
- A few hours
- 500 GB
- Under a day
- 2 TB
- About 3 days
- 7 TB
- About 10 days
Moving into a Shared Drive does not change the limit: it counts for the Google account that does the uploading.
